    View of a valley with olive groves, sheep and goat pastures and in the background the mountains of the Ida Mountains with the highest elevation in Crete, the Psiloritis (2,456 m). Griffon vultures, buzzards, hawks and the splendor of wild herbs and wild flowers, e.g. wild orchids in spring, are unique not only for experts but also for "hobby" ornithologists, biologists and botanists.
